Batu Seremban is one of the traditional games played by children in the past. Batu Seremban is also known as the game of Selambut or Serembat.
Children love to play it individually and it is usually played in groups of two to four or more people. This game is usually played using stones or “fruits”.
Today in Malaysia, little cloth sacks, which contained seeds or beans, are often used as “fruits” in place of the stones.
Our Form 1 students learnt how to make the “fruits” for Batu Seremban game with the little cloth sacks sewn. This project is coherent with their current syllabus on Design and Technology (RBT).
Here are a few snippets of their amazing colourful Batu Seremban.
