Shadows are very common and yet there are principles behind the formation of shadows which most of us are not aware of. The Standard 2R students learned that three basic things are required in shadow formation, that is source of light, opaque object and surface behind the object on which the shadow forms.

They had fun learning about shadows in the recent Science class and managed to form different animal shadows. They also learned that light could not pass through opaque objects and thus it caused the formation of shadows.
