The recent floods have been the worst in Malaysia and brought about a profound effect on the flood victims.

Standard 1 to 3 students of Sekolah Rendah Rafflesia Kajang were given an opportunity to assess and understand the impact of flood hazard on humans and the natural environment. They learnt safety tips during a flood. Then, they were given a task to build a flood model. The activity encouraged the development of fine
motor skills of the students.

For Standard 4 to 6 students, on the other hand, they needed to create flood posters and models, and present their work to the school community. This activity could help enhance students’ presentation and communication skills.

Here are a few snippets of their work.
