In English, students learned about AABB poems, meaning the first two lines rhyme with each other, and then the next two lines rhyme, and so on. The students were given the first two lines of the poem to get them started ,the rest was up to them.

Through developing their own poem, this style of poetry teaches them about rhyme and rhythm. It also teaches them about pitch and tone when it is read outloud.

Here are a few snippets of their inspiring poem writing activity!
