Intense competition motivated our students to full attention, physical effort and creative learning during our recent Robotics CCA classes. 

 

Students collaborated in teams to design a paper plane launcher. They creatively used the twin spinning wheels with high speed gear ratio to transform the Soar EV robots into a plane-launching machine. Crucial problem-solving skills were developed as they programmed their robots to spin at maximum speed. 

 

They learned about trajectories by adjusting the height of the launcher and continued to improve their design till they achieved the best performance for their robot competition between the teams.
