Year 6 students continued to explore the theme Space Explorers. The next activity was to find out if the Sun moves.

They could see that the Sun is rising in the East and setting in the West. Students agree with the basic fact that the Sun changes position throughout the day. In groups students are asked to devise their own experiment to prove that the Sun changes position during the day.

The students then shared their findings with the class. They are taught how to derive the conclusions and are encouraged to think of reasons that might explain the data that they have collected.
