Chandra Mathy a/p Birapan @ Veerappan
Principal of Rafflesia International School, Puchong

It is a pleasure to welcome everyone to Rafflesia International School Puchong. I am privileged to lead such an exciting and vibrant school, which offers great opportunities for the students. Education is not just a process of transferring knowledge and gaining grades but also a lifelong process creating an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide them in the right path.

The International Early Year Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) which are comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum with their clear process of learning and specific learning goals. This encourages the child’s personal learning development on the aspects of international-mindedness. The strong foundation at primary prepares them to face the challenges of academic rigour required for the Cambridge Secondary level; irrespective of, the students’ ability. This progression is carefully designed to be relevant and challenging to the demands of the future global trends.

At Rafflesia, we are proud to ensure the students are given every possible opportunity to become confident, thoughtful and academically sound by setting high standards and expectations to bring out the best in them. With dedicated teachers and support staff forming a conducive environment, students will be our main focus. This is an essential part of character building of happiness and their sense of belonging and love towards the school.

I look forward to welcoming you to experience our best standard of education and personal development for your child.

Principal of Rafflesia International School, Kajang

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Rafflesia International School, Kajang.

At Rafflesia we take pride in our effort to ensure the holistic development for our students with emphasis on traditional values and global vision, to nurture them into well-rounded individuals.

In order to do that, we have made “Culture and Value”, “Global Outlook” and “Mandarin” our niche statement. This statement echoes our belief that traditional values and culture are the soul of our very existence. At the same time, we constantly look for opportunities to put our students on the global stage through students’ academic pursuits and competitions at the international level.

We are proud to say that our development of creative and critical thinking skills is one of our distinctive characteristics in our curriculum. Within the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), for example, the dynamic approaches to immersive learning provided by our experienced team of teachers allow students develop intellectual curiousity through enquiry-based learning. The themes specially selected for our IPC curriculum are based on horizontal and vertical progression of knowledge and skills, to enable our students to build on their knowledge learned and to take ownership of their learning to the next level.  At Secondary level, our coherent progression towards the prestigious Cambridge IGCSE qualifications provides our students with academic results that have strong international credit.

Our learning spaces are attractive and conducive to high-quality learning. In classrooms, Apple technology is used creatively to enhance learning, to refine research skills and to enable students to acquire sophisticated, future-focused ICT confidence.

We focus on getting the details of teaching and learning right. We also understand the diverse ways in which parents can enhance learning and we value the discussions that we have – at our regular coffee morning, at Parent Appreciation Days and during our Rafflesia Talks Series of workshops for parents conducted by the School Leadership Team or by visiting educational experts.

Learning does not end in classrooms. At Rafflesia, we help students to discover their interests and talents through co-curricular activities, interest-based activities and field trips that are an integral part of the school’s curriculum. They allow students to further develop their academic abilities as well as attributes-for-life: habits of mind such as determination and resilience; interpersonal capacities such as leadership skills and self-discipline.

In preparation for higher education courses, we have established strong partnerships with further education institutions, such as Kings College in the UK, and we regularly invite speakers from universities based in Malaysia, UK and USA to school to give talks about future pathways.

Lastly, our well-designed campus is positioned in the green and invigorating neighbourhood of Kajang 2. Come and see what we do. We would love to show you our school and talk to you about how we can work together to provide an inspiring education for your children.
